We are grateful for the hundreds of volunteers that give their time and talent each year enriching our programs with their dedication and compassion. We welcome your involvement!
Adapted Football, Baseball, Soccer, Golf, and Basketball – Share your love of sports with children with disabilities and special needs! We need coaches, referees, game day operations, or volunteers needed to be available to help in whatever way is needed. All volunteers attend an informational training session prior to the beginning of each sport’s season.
Our dedicated volunteers are the heart of our program as side walkers, leaders, helpers in the barn, and instructors. No experience necessary, but must be 14 years of age or older, and attend orientation prior to volunteering. Located at Camp Cheerful in Strongsville.
We are grateful for volunteer groups at our three sites (Camp Cheerful, Westlake, Highland Hills) who help us maintain our facilities, do landscaping, and special projects. Throughout the year, the Achievement Centers hold special events that help raise funds for our programs. Volunteers are needed in a variety of capacities from serving on auction committees to helping out at “A Most Excellent Race” to being a part of our Cheers to Camp Cheerful event at Camp Cheerful.
Our Community Achievers are groups such as employees, church groups, organizations, and others that have special events or activities to benefit the Achievement Centers for Children. Some ideas for raising donations have been a special day designated as “Jean’s Day,” restaurants or stores offering a percentage of sales for a day, golf or other sporting events, and so many other ways. Please contact us before your event for guidelines.
The Achievement Centers for Children Associate Board is a dynamic group of young professionals who are committed to supporting the Achievement Centers through philanthropic and volunteer activities. Our Associate Board members lend their time, expertise and financial support to help children with disabilities and their families realize their dreams and discover their potential while expanding their own personal and professional networks.
