We welcome Alex Price as a guest blogger for the Achievement Centers! Alex has been coming to the Achievement Centers for about 2 years for speech therapy. Writing blogs is part of his speech therapy plan as it motivates him to express himself while speaking more clearly and use breathing strategies during his dictation. He enjoys sharing his stories and advocating for persons with disabilities through his tips.
Hi, my name is Alex Price.
I am 21 years old. I was born and raised in Solon, Ohio about 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland, Ohio. I went to Solon City Schools and graduated from Solon High School in 2016.
I enjoy boxing, attending my church, reading with my book club, movies, especially comedies, and taking my dog for a walk. By the way, we have five dogs, one cat, and a ferret. I also really enjoy spending time with my mom and twin brother John.
In 2015, I worked at the Great Lakes Science Center as a greeter where I also gave people directions and made sure they had their admission wristbands on. In 2016, I started working for the Cleveland Browns as a greeter and elevator operator. I really enjoy this job because of all the different people I have been able to meet and talk to. I met some of the past players such as Joe Thomas, Kevin Mack, and Hanford Dixon. I have also met co-owner, Dee Haslem. Mrs. Haslem is very nice and “down to earth.”
I have gone downhill skiing for several winters, parasailing at Put-in-Bay and white water rafting in West Virginia. I like riding roller coasters at Cedar Point and I even got to do some horseback riding on a horse named Charcoal. I really enjoy listening to music, especially country and gospel. Garth Brooks and Aretha Franklin are my favorite artists.
I recently completed writing a book about my life and it is now being edited. The title of my autobiography is “Never Give Up.” I hope to self publish with Kindle Direct Publishing.
I hope you’ll follow my blog and learn more about my life. My next blog about my job working for the Cleveland Browns will be published Monday, Dec. 2nd. Don’t miss any of my blogs by following the Achievement Centers on Facebook @AchievementCenters.
I enjoy working for the Cleveland Browns as a greeter!
I meet a lot of nice and interesting people.
I'm part of an awesome team here.
When you come to a Browns game, be sure to say hi to me.
My special wheelchair allows me to stand up and operate the elevator for my job with the Cleveland Browns.
