If you enjoyed the 2014 film Becoming Bulletproof, we think you’ll love Best Summer Ever, a film that is being featured at this year’s Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF45 – which is on-line this year). It is a musical romp put together by the Bulletproof directors who took home CIFF’s Roxanne T. Mueller Award for Best Film at the 39th annual festival.
The Integrated cast and crew of Best Summer Ever features people with and without disabilities and it certainly showcases a wide range of talents, skills, and abilities. This innovative, free-spirited take on the teen musical is great viewing for audiences of all ages. The film follows Anthony, a high school football player, shocked to discover that a new classmate, Sage, is the same young woman he fell in love with at a summer dance camp. Now they must reevaluate their relationship as Anthony struggles to be both the high school football star and the dancer he’s always wanted to be.
Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard and Benjamin Bratt have cameo roles in Best Summer Ever, which you’ll be able to watch this Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 7:00 PM or 10:00 PM.
