Camp Cheerful Residential Camps

Located on 52 acres in the Cleveland Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville, Camp Cheerful is Ohio's first barrier-free camp. Camp Cheerful offers residential co-ed sessions in a beautiful outdoor environment for children and adults ages 7 and older with AND without special needs. Siblings and friends are welcome to join campers for a week of fun!

Camp counselors are experienced in caring for campers with special needs and a registered nurse is on duty 24 hours a day.

Camp activities are designed to meet the individual interests and needs of campers of all abilities. Camp programs promote self-confidence, independence and friendship in a beautiful outdoor environment.

Weekly summer sessions and off-season weekend sessions' activities can include:

  • Swimming
  • Arts & crafts
  • Therapeutic Riding
  • Campfires
  • Fishing
  • Nature study
  • Canoeing
  • Frisbee golf

Registration for children and adults ages 7 and older with AND without special needs is available for the following dates:

  • Saturday, June 26 - Thursday, July 1, 2010                 (Ages 7 & Over)
  • Sunday, July 4 - Friday, July 9, 2010                            (Ages 7 & Over)
  • Sunday, July 11 - Friday, July 16, 2010                        (Ages 18 & Over Only)
  • Sunday, July 18 - Friday, July 23, 2010                        (Ages 7 & Over)
  • Sunday, July 25 - Friday, July 30, 2010                        (Ages 7 & Over)
  • Sunday, August 1 - Friday, August 6, 2010                  (Ages 18 and Over Only)
  • Sunday, August 8 - Friday, August 13, 2010                (Ages 7 & Over)
  • Sunday, August 15 - Friday, August 20, 2010              (Ages 7 and Over)
