Autism Preschool Education at the Achievement Centers

The Achievement Centers' autism preschool program, held at our Highland Hills and Westlake locations, is designed for 3 to 5 year olds with a diagnosis of Autism/PDD-NOS. This program offers year-round continuous services - a full day preschool program during the school year and a six-week program during the summer months. Class size is seven children.

Each preschool team includes a lead special education teacher and two educational aides. This high staff-to-child ratio is needed to ensure success in the learning environment.

An occupational therapist, a speech/language pathologist and music therapist provide direct therapy services for each child in accordance with their IEP goals. They also spend additional time in the classroom to reinforce the comprehensive program model.

A social worker consults with the preschool team and offers community resource information for each family. A parent educator enhances the quality of parent-child interactions by working with each family to create a home program that reinforces classroom learning.

Autism K-4th Grade Classrooms at the Achievement Centers

This public school option, located at our Highland Hills and Westlake locations, is designed to assist students on the autism spectrum who need additional time developing the necessary skills to successfully transition back to their home school district.

The interdisciplinary team includes a special education teacher, educational aides, occupational, speech and music therapist. A parent educator plays an integral role in the home-school district connection.

The K-4 autism classroom program incorporates a six-week summer program to complete the 12-month educational and therapeutic focus. The curriculum is aligned with Ohio's K-4 Academic Content Standards.
